Quelle: Sky Sports Bayer Leverkusen are in pursuit of Danish midfielder Niki Zimling, according to the player's club Esbjerg.
Zimling is highly regarded in his home country and has been linked with several of the continent's top clubs in recent months.
He has said he is ready to go abroad and Esbjerg's sports director Niels Erik Sondergaard believes he could soon be playing in the Bundesliga.
"Germany is an option, yes," Sondergaard told BT.
"I think it will go at least one week before a contract is in place, but more I can not say."
Sampdoria are also understood to be interested in the player and Sondergaard travelled to Italy last week, reportedly to negotiate a deal.
